Hey Saxp

Think its time I got some new products for cleaning my car.
I started off with the basics like SRP, but Id really like some suggestions on some new detailing stuff.
Sorry to make another one of these threads, but could really do with some help.

I was thinking

Wash: Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo
Using a microfibre sponge ... :y: or :n:

Dry: Could really do with another drying towel as Mine has picked up bits of sand that I cannot remove :wall:

Polish: Autoglym SRP applied using Foam Pads
Remove: Microfibre cloth

Wax: Autoglym HD Wax using foam pads :y:  :n:
Remove: Another Microfibre Cloth

Few other bits
is it normal for the Microfibre clothes to get clogged up with Wax after you buff it off? Mine don't stay very ... Micofibre'ish after removing the wax.
And what is Autoglym extra gloss protection (EGP) used for & what stage of the cleaning?

Thank for reading

So used to reading sarcastic replies to questions ... So glad I didn't ask in General chat :D
Thanks mate

I'll definitely look into a decent Wash Mitt,
But that drying towel is the one Ive already got.
I wouldn't recommend as it picked up dirt really easily and wont come out during a wash :n:

Thanks guys

Is the rest of my list ok? Got a day off working coming up, so going to go mental on the car detailing and spend a good few hours getting a decent coat on the paintwork

That uber blue one is perfect, had mine for ages and still looks and works brand new. Might be worth buying a new one.

I prefer using eurow buffing cloths. Much softer than the yellow ones (except the PB one).

The AG wax is fine aswell, not worth spending the extra on something else.

The meguiars wash mitt will be fine for you aswell.

If your gunna spend that much get yourself some Dodo

I was tempted to get Dodo, but I heard its harder to get off. Going from the Wax I have been using, I want the wax to be nice and easy to remove. The mirror shine stuff I got now takes YEARS to come off.
Maybe I'll get some Purple Haze next time :)
+ The HD Wax comes with a few applicators and a microfibre to remove it.
All my current microfibres are clogged with the old Wax :wall:

DoDo SN and Purple Haze/Pro are quite possibly the easiest waxes to buff IMO.

Really? Aww damn. Better luck next time I guess.
Just realised I need to spam the Thank you button.

Thanks for all your help guys :y:

It's all about the thickness that you apply the wax (you want it as thin as possible), cure time and paint prep!

As Paul said, apply very thinly. A thick coat is A) a waste and B) a nightmare.

Get yourself a supernatural finger mitt along and the Eurow buffing clothes (or even DJ Fantastic Fur if your feeling snazzy) along with Dodo Juice Purple Haze and your laughing.
