I run an online internet station ... Looking for DJ's.

Anyone run online stations themselves or play on them ?

Pirate radio is hard to do these days cause of the crackdown on it so people are resorting to legal online streams. I think its a good thing for showin what talent is around. What do you all think ?

thats how it works mate, You use a program called SHOUTCAST or whatever one that works.

All you do is put our IP address in and password and port, Link it to your sound card input/ Mixer Then hit connect, Do your set and bobs your uncle.

Using Sam Broadcaster and shoutcast to broadcast to the website. It was good fun.
You think its so simple, yet we forgot simple things like background music. Sounds awful when the DJ is talking without and music. Silence is a big NO NO

BTW: Sam broadcaster is a great program to get your started. You can queue songs, preview the next song on another Deck and blend them together.
Simple yet effective. So if your having a hard time with your current program / media player

Yeah psp Dan people do lock in.. we have a regular listener base but obviously, Its up to the dj to also promote and pass links for his own show... The more we spread the word about it the more people lock in :)

Nice one m8.. Well we have had a bit of trouble with the servers ( as you can prob hear ) but were back on streaming now....Just about lol ... Its free to DJ on, Doesnt cost the DJs anything. We pay for the servers.

If you hear it skipping now again its just a minor thing. Doesnt happen all the time, As i say weve had some trouble and were sorting it out but were back on thats the main thing :)

Has anyone else experienced skipping let me know please.

Anyway ... Anyone into a set PM me and i can sort it out... I will need to hear a short demo of your mixing aswell... make sure you give us an example of your presentation skills too :) i dont expect fuckin Chris moyles breakfast show... haha... just enough confidence on the mic to present the show well and name tracks and have a laugh etc..... although we do take it serious so if your on it, Be prepared to commit to doing a weekly show... If everyone does a weekly show regular it will become really big then we can get Club nights on and stuff :)

As i say all we need is a 20 - 30 mins demo of Said DJs mixing and hosting ability and then we give you server details and your away :)
