could i jst use the gloss black paint that halfords etc sell or should i stick to a colour code or what?

tbh honest mate its better if you try get your colour code otherwise it may look a bit :homme:
but then again it depends what you want really. When i did mine i used my colour code but then again my saxo is icelandic

ive done mine gloss black, and ive got a icelandic s, but then again ive got gloss black bumpstips so its all c/c that way.. have a go, if you dont like it then try again.. simple

If you look in the paint book at halfords you will find the correct painton the shelf
