When i was 17 i drove my dads audi s3 for a yr as it was company insurance. when i was 18 he changed jobs and so i had to go on my mums insurance which was a 1yr old X reg Saxo VTR. she has FULL no claims and it still cost 919 quid, with cheapest company i could find. i was 18 not 17 with no points/claims neither her, so i dunno how u got 300... also i rang an insurance company when i was 17 and said whats the CHEAPEST car i can get insured on to build up my no claims. he said a 1.0ltr polo or an old fiesta. and that would still cost me 1300+(dozen companies said same thing) to insure third party only. i did not know anyone who insured a car in their own name at 17 or 18. anyway just trying to tell u how it was for me, and most likely will be for u. hope this helps

yes i am correct, a v-reg sax vtr in a low rate crime zone with a cat 1 alarm with pass plus on my mums insurance was a total of £750 but my mum pays £400 as it is so she said i only ave to pay her £350 so ner ner ner ner ner, and my mate has a fiesta 1.1 lives just down the road from me and he pays £1100 for his insurance on his own.

Two reasons:



1. The car is on my mums name and she got full no-claim, so that means already a 70% 'discount'

2. The company I'm insured with is a municipality (dont

know if its in the right context)

insurance via my dads work.
