Hi saxp, a couple of my mates are getting insured while there on a provisional license and when they pass they are expecting to pay the same rate? is this right? for example i'm getting quotes of £1400 for my saxo furio on a provisional and over £3000 for a full license? could anyone explain?

cheers

No, when you pass it goes up alot.

Because you are no longer watched by a qualified driver

There more n more likely to drive like an arse and crash

There wrong! It will increase alot so the quotes you got are quite reflective of how it will actually be :y:

Bingo

Although, if you are insuring a vehicle in your own name on a provisional, it will be accounting toward your first years no claims bonus.

Swings and roundabouts tbh.

A furio is a nice first car, try getting quotes on them.

Insurance is all fucked up.

Insurance used to go down when your renewed, not up.

Nowaday's it seems in most cases it goes up by rather a lot. When i had my first car (6 years ago) i had a 1991 1.4 Clio RT - cost me £1700 tpft. I rang when i passed and they just said 'okay, thanks... i've noted it' and that was that.

Didn't pay any more money.
