& hopefully my last.

Was on the way back from picking my dad up from earby last night, was in a 60mph zone, was doing 50mph as i saw something dark in the road, yes you guessed it, a hedgehog.

I moved slightly over to the centre of the road, anymore & i would have hit a oncomming car.

I thought i had missed it till i heard a little thud.

However i didnt drive over it, just hit it with the side of my front wheel.

They sure do have very sharp spines as can be seen in the pictures below.

My tyre hasnt de-flayted (sp), over night, so iam guessing it hasnt punctured my tyre, but maybe they are stopping air from comming out, i hope not, cant even afford a new tyre for the alloy that isnt on.

poor hedgehog.... probably survived your little incidence only to get crunched by the car behind you.

I'll be surprised that the spikes got all the way through mind.
Hope it hasnt punctured it.

Finally took them out, they were embeded by about 5mm max, so not that bad.

It might have returned to saftey in fear of being run over next time, but animals like that seem to have no brains & just walk across the road when they please.

never seen a road kill dude?

5mm seems a fair bit to be honest. Keep checking the tyre pressure over the next few days and see if there's any difference.

We get loads of hedgehogs around here, specially with there being 3 big open fields around me.

Better keep my eyes peeled for the wee fuckers now.

They wernt all in 5mm, about 3 of them, but yeah, i'll keep my eye on the tyre, if it goes down then the car will be put to the back of the drive for the next few weeks, got more important things to pay for then this shit heap.

Once saw a hedgehog with his head stuck in those white plastic things off the top of McFlurrys.....made me giggle....didnt help him dont get payed enough to help people out of work hours

aw man your one of these weirdo's thats scared of butterflies?! a mate of mine is too, we take the piss out of him all the time, his justification for his fear is:- "Well...you never know which way they are going to turn!"..... smileys/smiley5.gif

anyway, i reckon your tyre will be fine tony, i ran over a glass irn bru bottle a few weeks back, smashed it up good style!

i always swerve for animals in the road, cats are bastards tho, always seem to go under the car or run out the way
