I had bad experience with a previous car when fitting and using a universal gear knob (3 screws to tighten around the screw top of the gear lever), it kept coming loose and I had to repalce it once because the tightening screws lost their threading.

Does anyone know any Gear knob heads that come as screw on, to the top of the lever rather than the above method?

Also how do you fit a new handbrake handle? same method with the surround just flapping at the back, or does it fit properly and feel solid, similar to the standard plastic surround?

I've got a ripspeed gear knob but that is with the three little nuts. Its been on for about 3 months now and hasn't shown any sign of coming loose.

As for the hand brake lever, you first have to carefully cut the standard plastic one off and then fit the new one on top again most come with the three grubs that you tighten up and as for the gaitor, some come with velcro to keep it in place between the seats hope this helps smileys/smiley2.gif
