My Dad has just bought this beast! Gave it a good detail today! What do you guys think? Tis such a nice car to drive, build quality is awesome too :y:
Also, which one of the waxes from DoDo's range would best suit this colour? Would I be right in thinking Purple Haze as I prefer to work with the softer waxes :p
Anyway a few pics... (apologies for the quality they were taken quickly on the iPhone)

Thanks man, I know. The new 'R' they have released just doesn't do it for me. Suppose it makes R32's more sought after though which can be looked upon as a good thing.
Tis nice, prefer the MK4 R32's though :D
I honestly used to as well! I much prefered the shape of the MK4's but now that i've seen this in the flesh it does make the MK4's look outdated! :p

I would use purple haze pro, gives great results on darker cars

It's parked in the carport (can be seen in the 3rd pic in the background). :p

Am i the only one who's not struck on the mk5 r32 then? Don't get me wrong, nice car. But looks wise it does nothing at all for me.
Mk4 r32's have a bulky appearance and you know it's an r32.
The first time i seen a mk5 r32 i mistook it for a GTI. All it has visually is some twin tailpipes, bit of chrome and some fancy wheels.
No offence like dude, still a nice car - just not what it should have been in my eye's :)

I get what your saying tbh mate. I think with the MK4's all of the other models GTI's 1.6's etc looked so boring and standard, when they released the MK4 R32 it was like wow this looks seriously good. Whereas with the MK5 models of Golfs, the GTi has come on alot and now looks miles better than the MK4 GTi hence looking more like a top end model of Golf, kind of competing with the MK5 R32 in a way. Like I said in the post above, I do love the MK4's but I just feel the shape is getting outdated now... :)
If I was lucky enough to own one of these at my age though, i'd make it look like this... :p

Is a nice car but has no presence. You cant really tell it apart from, like has been said, something like a GTi.
At least with the MK4 you could tell instantly it was a different animal.
Still nice car though

The sound alone gives it presence lol :p
In my eyes it stands out alot, compare it to a random pic of a standard GTi for example:

I agree with what your saying though, the MK4 was an animal when it came out.

Love it. Definitely prefer the mk5 32. But there is something about the wheels I don't like, there is another set you can get for mk5 32 which I prefer and look a lot easier to clean lol.

very nice indeed, deep blue pearl is the colour ;) same as mine
see it has the recaros too at least a 2 grand option iirc
R32 is now rare the new rs use the 2 litre turbo from the mk5 gtis now so thats why they just call them R's as R20 really would of sounded crap
I cant wait to get mine on coilovers but them alone are 1200 with the tie bars, KWs has to be done though, slow progress things cost ten times as much as a saxo, but its gonna be worth it
Has he done a few launch controls yet :p you might want to tell him to get the timing chain checked out too, ive heard a few stories, there meant to last 100k though, its not actually the chain that goes its the tensioner and guides that give up the ghost

Cheers man, yes I prefer the facelift wheels as well! I'll try to convince him to get some! These were literally the hardest wheels i've ever cleaned, took me bloody ages!

Yeah they really are lovely cars, definatly looking to get myself one when i'm old enough. I just love how uncommon they are. Yeah the seats are awesome and were, like you say, a fair bit more £££ as an extra. Definatly the colour isn't it, although I would have loved him to have got a Candy White one
I think he just wants to keep it a really nice OEM example, it's only on 20k and it really is mint.
Is it just the DSG you can do launch controls with? As he went for the manual as he just preffered it which is fair enough as I think you feel more in control with a manual set up as well. The DSG is slightly quicker to 60 though isn't it.
I do like yours alot though, saw it at Trax. It is a really nice example of a MK4 :y:
Lovely car mate!

Haha cheers they are nice cars :)

Yeah I think he must have it on adjustable suspension and just dropped it fully for the picture. I wouldn't say no to it though tbh :p

candy white ones are mega rare, only ever seen one for sale on piston heads, think there was only about 4 mk5s bought in uk
Yeah only the dsg boxes do the launch control, and yeah slightly faster to 60 but i feel liek a manual box keeps you more involved with the car ;) never actually got to try a dsg box, would love to try one though
Cheers apart from a few bits on it ie wheels need refurbing dues to laquer peeling on one of them and the rubstrip im in the process of getting a new one from an already painted breaking mk4 r32 then it will be sorted, just needs coilovers and cruise control on by the end of this year to show ive done something :p everything is ten times the price of a saxo so slow progress :(
