i know this is the wrong section but no one looks in the i.t section...
I got a new laptop for my birthday yesterday and everything was good until an hour ago.
My compuer wont let me load anything, no programs no internet, nothing. Just keeps popping up with this security suite crap. Even my mcafee wont work.
Does anyone know what it is?
How to remove it?
Had similar problems?
A quick google on my phone told me its a virus :(
Any help would be appreciated.

I think it's not a virus, have you tried to restore and backup your computer system? I hope it will help.

try a 'restore to a previous date' (dont know the real name) i had the same sort of thing, nothing would open apart from internet explorer, but i downloaded something off the windows site called 'ExeFix' or something like that, and it worked. i dont think its a malicious virus or anything, so dont panic mate

what you been doing eh? ;)
anyway, its bogus software. boot up in safe mode and go hunting with whatever antispyware you can get hold of (may have to use a different pc and burn some to a disk). or, seeing as you've had it a few days, a reinstall will suffice

I cant honestly say it wont be a virus, do a system Restore
To the date in which everything was ok..
You probs
Clicked somethings
If that dont work get back in touch..
And for mcafee get rid,
Honestly even for new computers it slow them down alot. Its not the best complete software and if its the free one from sky dont waste your time and best get better software

Sounds like a virus that pretends to be windows security, safemode etc remove, easy then get something decent like nod32

If it's only a day old not worth arsing around with safe mode.
If it came with a restore cd just whack that in and have it reset, will be like you haven't used it yet.
After it's reset do a windows update before you start visiting any sites too.

for gods sake dont buy it. on startup press ctrl-alt-delete before the computer has chance to load up properly and check task manager. there will be a file in there that is either 8 or 9 random digits that is running. copy these numbers down on some paper and close the program on the task manager. then go into windows search, search the numbers, and delete anything relating to them, files folders etc
unless its some other problem, in which case the above post will look really random

Lots of strange responses here so far....
Its not a virus, its a piece of malware designed to make it look like you have viruses/spyware etc so you will buy thier product to remove it.
Try following the instructions on this link
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-windows-security-suite
May need to boot into safe mode to carry out the solutions

You mean after I finished wanking to beastility porn this pop up keeps coming up saying i haz viruses.
First of all I would re-image the laptop (branded laptops normally have recovery software). Then get yourself some decent anti virus & spyware software.
