Very likely. 60 quid 3 pts, you might get offered a speed awareness course though as it's only a bit above.

100% ?
Well, my speedo did read about 35mph. Do they normally stop you if your above the speed limit no matter how little?

Yeah thought you were allowed like 5%-10% difference

Was it a copper with the gun though? my girlfriends dad got caught by a handheld one but it was one of them community things where the neighbourhood watch were using the gun

so he just got a letter saying effectivly, dont do it again

I think they normally stop you there and then with the hadheld guns, I think you got off with it

Technically, if you're doing 31mph, they can still fine you and give you points for speeding as "there is a speed limit for a reason".

This is gonna turn into another ' it's a speed limit your fault for breaking it' etc etc. everyone breaks the speed limit or has done they talk shit if they say they haven't.

Is this from personal experience? I thought they didnt have to stop you?

From personal experience, With a handheld you get pulled over and issued a ticket. Otherwise theres not enough evidence to say you was speeding.

This is if it was a panda car on the side of the road with an officer pointing the gun.

Not a van.

the come through the post.and usually they give you 10% + 3... so in a 30 you get 36mph

40 you get 47.... and so on and so on.

thats why usually when yiour on the motorway cops wont bother with u unless your doin 80 +

think iv been done twice in the past weeks though... once on the motorway down to kettering and the 2nd in kettering...moral of the story dont give me a K24 civic lol.

waiting on the letters... gonna be gutting!

Mine was a man standing on a pavement holding a gun. There was also a police car and a van hiding as you turn off in a minor road.

ouch, looks like my upgrades for the saxo will have to wait as i have to spend some of it on my fine. :n:

If it was a man with a gun, You should be safe, With these they usually pull you a bit further down the road. Happend to me i was doing 35mph (man with a gun) never got pulled for it, although the patrol was a bit further down the road. Must of forgot to radio in haha. Dont worry about it bud. Atleast youll drive a bit more sensibly for a week or two, i usually do after a close call lol

I love how people try and make out they have 'the' answer, when it comes to speeding there never seems to be any really definitive answers. The so called 'laws' seem to vary from district to district, all dependent on how lenient the local force are etc.

Imo, if your speedo read 35 you won't get anything, as you'd have been doing 31/32 in reality which they obviously aren't going to do you for. I got done for 36 in a 30 and iirc my speedo hit around 40.. I got offered the speed awareness course luckily so did that - again, whether or not you will get offered this you'll have to see as it varies depending on the local council.

a got caught n payed the fine n sent ma license n they lost ma license n a have to pay the fine again n pay for a new license n paper part fuckn useless courts man

Translated into English...

"I got caught and paid the fine, I then sent my licence away which they managed to lose. Due to this I had to pay the fine again as well as a new licence including the paper part. Fucking useless courts man"

How difficult was that, it's five extra words!!!
Do people not speak English anymore?
