Hey, i recently sold my beloved mk1 vtr and miss it so much im wanting another 1, but this time i want a mk 2, a mate is selling a 51 plate but not sure what i should be looking for problem wise and would like some tips on checking the rear axle! can anybody help?

if the rear wheels look bowed... then perhaps look deeper.
Its usually a good sign cause from the back the wheels arent straight.... Probably quite obvious from behind if its bad... If its got a lengthy MOT i would imagine it will be sound as i think MOT test would pick things like that up.
Check general stuff mate, all electrics working, Common fault with my mk2 was that the wishbone ball joint perished and can cause rattline, Similar symptoms with a dodgy drive shaft. Check it all out. Also that the sunroof aint leaking.

Also take it 4 a good drive see how it run's. Check 4 any stange engine sounds . Also have a look at the exhaust. Look 4 any white or blue smoke if so don't buy it.
