Just finished fitting a vts engine into my vtr and it wont start. I have a keypad immobilizer and it wont accept the code, i put it in and it just beeps a few times with a flashing red light. The new ecu is unlocked btw. Im guessing its an immobilizer problem but cant work out what to do now :( Any ideas?

if you left the keypad in youve locked the vts ecu. the code youre putting in is for the vtr ecu

How can I tell if its locked or not? Surely if locked the imobilizer light would come on?

Going to fit a new ecu that is unlocked, but I wanted to clarify what to unplug exactly, I got one of those keypad immobilizers, I have unplugged the keypad but I dont know what the immobilizer bit looks like. Also can I plug the immobilizer back in after I have connected the ecu and started the car?

the immobilizer is on passenger side, i didnt disconnect my keypad and didnt matter, i fitted vts engine conversion, now the keypad just goes to green when i go to start the car

Does anyone have a picture of the immobilizer? Not really sure what is the right thing to unplug as there is a few Grey boxes and dont want to lock another ecu. Also can I plug immobilizer back in the ecu is fitted?

Have a search on the forum mate. Theres a thread on how to remove the imobiliser somewhere.

You will need and unlocked ecu and and to remove the little black box the size of a fag box up behind the glove box on the passenger side then you should be away. that what i did on my 16v conversion and it works fine.
