My MK1 Saxo VTR Project

I thought I would set up a progress page for my mk1 1.6 VTR Project
She doesn’t look like much at the moment but there’s been some progress already with plenty of work to do be done in the future.

August 2010 Day of purchase.
I bought her as a none runner, as a friend of my’n found her sitting beside the road for around 2years. The lacquer on the bonnet had pealed and the passenger side wing mirror has corroded, but apart from that the body work didn’t seem to bad with just over 110,000 miles on the clock and a "imbolizer problem" i was keen to get her running again.

I want to keep it as suttle as possiable so the body works goning to be pretty much standard. theres still a fair bit of touching up to be done.

whats been done:
Colour coded bumbers.
Oz alloys.
16v conversion inc gearbox.
Lowered springs.

To be done:
Full 2.5" kam racing decat exhaust system.
supersprint 4-2-1 manifold.
brake discs, pads, and lines.
full suspension kit lowered 50mm
Cam kitted
Bmc/cda induction kit
106 rallye gear box
106 gti interior
front angel eyes
New alloys
Custom Audio install by Sextons-Southampton
bottom & top strut brace
quickshift kit

So theres my progress so far. Shes up the garage at the moment having The bonnet resprayed, the back end being lowered and its going through a mot. I should have the exhaust and manifold done over the next 2weeks with the suspension and brakes to be done after. I just cant wait to get her home for her first weekend wash. ;) :y:

lol! you can come de-weed the drive if you want. but its not myn lol. took that the day i purchased it, the guy said its been sitting there for a year, but checking out the millage on the log book, and those weeds i think its longer... and the fact it ran out of tax in 2007 lol :boxing:

Nice laquer peel on the bonnet lol. Looks like it has good potential, glad to see you've wasted no time in getting a 16v in there.

Hi guys.
After a long couple of months of work and moving out I haven't had the time/money to spend on the sax, so she's been sitting in the garage feeling pretty sorry for her self! I finally picked her up friday. Engines running really sweet., and the bonnets been re-sprayed so looking 100% better.. Been lowered all round so sitting nicely now, think I need to change the profile on the tyres as there rubbing slightly. But apart from that I'm really pleased with the outcome.

Next on the list is the exhaust and manifold or the big break upgrade. Not quiet sure yet.

Ill post some pics over the next couple of days... I work weekends so haven't had a chance for a nice polish up... Way too cold atm for evening car washes lol

What would you guys go for next!? I'll be going over the little touches intill after xmas (tidying up the engine bay, angel eyes etc)

hi guys just a few updates on the vtr.

havent got round to ordering my exhaust yet, think i will be going for the 3"saxsport decat system now, and will be going for the supersprint 4-2-1 branched manifold. but before then i wanna finish up on some other things. will be starting a custom grill on wednesday once i pick up a donner bumber over the weekend, (gona be taking off the badge and going for a full beam going through the middle) gona order some angel eyes to finish the front off aswell....

apart from that its cleaning up the engine bay (rocker cover, polish the head, smaller battery etc) nothing to drastic but just seems a shame to see it so messy. i am currently looking for some gti interior (email me if anyone has any)

been really busy with work lately so havent even been able to wash her intill recently or even spend anytime on it what so ever. just seems like its all work an no play atm :S lool
