Right, Had a look under my car before to try and determin where my nocking noise is coming from.

The Driveshafts have a small amount of play in them and drivers side is leaking where it goes into the gearbox. So obv they need replacing but would this be the cause of the knocking (and would replacing solve the leak)?? Also replacing my wishbones as the seals have split ;) lol

Thanks Guys/Girls

Where is the play?

If the play is in the cv joint and they are split/leaking cv grease then you're drivehafts are most probably shagged.

The leak you are referring to could be your driveshaft seals on your gearbox. Causing you to lose gearbox oil.

Driveshfts do knock when they're gone yes. As do the lower balljoints on your wishbones.

Definatly loosing gearbox oil (are the seals easy to replace??) Not sure where the play is but when i shook it from side to side there was play. I'm replacing them this weekend, Just wasnt sure if it would be a simple fix with the leak or not.

Will have to remove the driveshafts to replace them anyway.

And it's good practice to replace them when you remove the driveshafts.

With the shafts out, prise out the seals. Can use a large flat head driver to get them out.

I like to apply a small amount of non setting flange sealant to the new seals, and then tap them in.

Simple as that.
