Like said 3l d is what 230 bhp? same with the 3l petrol except thats slowww as its got half the torque, in a massive boat (Stilll a lovely car) like that it would do 0-60 in around 8.5 sec? the diesel maybe a bit less about 8. A lightly modified vts would see that later up to about 100 and I dont think You were as it was on a "Public Highway". However if it was the alpina version, you would be nowhere to be seen as that does 60 in well under 5 seconds, for a big car that is very very quick.

Fair enough amg mercs. I used to have an ex police T5. 250bhp. My Saxo is easy quicker than that.
I did 0-60 at trax. Got 6.8 seconds and it was a wet track.

My wife's Mazda is uber reliable and way safer than my Saxo VTR, but faster, no way. It handles like a hippo on a skateboard, needs a 6th gear for motorway driving and when you floor the accelerator, I'm sure the car goes "what? really!? I was so happy plodding along. Gimme a few mins and I'll think about going faster"

Although, a 2.0l MX-5 in the right hands would give a VTS a run for its money.

umm not really when on paper their top speed in 106 and i had 110 out my old one just lke VTR's on paper top speed 120 ive had just over 125 out of mine and tbh would probs give alittle more
obv any dbs or sports car tbf would leave my 306 eating dust i dont think my car is faster then theirs at all i know its not by a long shot but all i was saying was that its not all about the car

depends how its calculated really. they're not foolproof, mine variates by at least 2mph if not more, and it depends on satellites, the terrain, lots of stuff

A BMW is not a higher performing car until you get a 325 or something. I have had a little play with one and it couldn't overtake me no matter how hard it tried. All the cars you have named are more for luxury, not power imo.

Thats the Flagship models of them models though, the Mazda3 normally comes in 1.6 diesels, unless you were talking about the MPS model which is 6.2s 0-60. Unless we want to throw in a load of models with the big engines, stick to 1.6's to 2.0's.. Not many of them N/A engines will get away from a VTS. Even the case with a BMW 325 and 730.

What you have to remember about a FRS, m3, Astra VXR etc... is that, whilst some smaller engined, cheaper car's might be as fast/nearly as fast... They're still a better car.

My mate has a 1.8 16v Mk1 Clio Turbo running 270bhp, it eat's Scooby's, lower spec Porsche's, some Evo's, Skyline's, Supra's etc.... He's got a video of him literally annihilating a FRS which had been tuned, and i mean - he killed it!!!

What would i want as my daily though? The FRS ofcourse, more comfortable, looks good, all the toy's etc.
Which is more fun? Well the Clio i'd imagine would put a much bigger smile on your face.
