if i wanted to fit a vt kit to my 1.1 what body work would need doing to it?? do i need to take the rub strips off and do i need to make holes as i'm sure someone said you need to clip parts on and also is tiger seal a good make for the sealent to keep the parts on??
yes would need to remove the rub strips and replace with VT ones. You dont need to make holes it can be bonded. Tiger seal seems to do the job

regardless of what you do ill need to cut away some of ur rear and front quaters as they stick out below the vt arches. this shud really be done at a bodyshop unless u know what ur doing, but on the plus side u wont get any rubbing from the wheels on the underside lip of ur 1.1 arch

the rub strips that are on at the moment you just need to rip em off really, theyre only on with the lil plastic clips.
when you buy the VT kit you'll be able to place the rear quarters in line and you'll see that the 1.1 arch comes lower than the vt one. get the angle grinder out if you think you can do it alone and carefully cut the arch away so it can no longer be seen (only just out of sight) this eliminates the trouble part of the arch (underside lip that you can feel, which rubs when 15+' wheels are fitted) the clips will fit into old holes for the bottom part of the quarter panel and then you can either drill holes for the clips on the arch, or remove the clips and bond it on depending on your preference.
hope that makes kinds sense

Front and back bumpers are straight fit btw, no modifications needed there. side skirts can either be bonded, or you can drill holes again so the clips go in and then you need to fit the underside to the car aswel.
also bare in mind that any cutting of the arches that you may do, you should make sure its smooth and treat the metal properly so that it doesnt rust

How do you treat the arches once you've cut them? just paint them over?

yeah that makes sense nice one mate but as above what do you use to treat the metal once you've sorted the arches out?
