View Full Version : Shine / Wax on a silver clio

Right first off Im aware my silver car wont shine or reflect like my old black or wicked red sax's but I did read a thread on here at some point about getting the best results from silver
I cant find it though.
Would it just be a case of the usual 3-4 polishes a year and then a good regular waxing following washing? Or would a specific wax be best.
(car never really looks dirty though which is nice)
thanks for any help

Hi Ron
Best Shine and protectent for Silver light coloured Cars Jeffs Acylic Kit:y: i should know as i've tried various sealents/wax's and this works best with out doubt! the more Trigger sealent and acylic glos you apply the wetter and more depth and clarity to the paintwork:y: http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/werkstat-acrylic-kit-cat1.html you don't need to apply much trigger just a light mist on a panel at a time:y:

I've heard Collinite 476S works well with lighter coloured cars, lasts a fair while too.
Polish it when you can be arsed, and use this combo every few months imo:

Liam i've tried that on mine, no offence but Jeffs acylic kit is far far better than Collinite 476, it's alot wetter shine altogether, also it keeps the car cleaner in the winter especially and alot easier to apply than 476.

wet enough for you Ron;)
I've only used the Jeffs Acrylic Jett quickly while a mate was doing a detail and I loved the stuff. As Wayne has said, leaves a real wet finish. Durability is the same as any other similarly priced detailing spray.

I seen what you did there with my quote;) no tyre gel gloss as that was the day mum sold her car:y: most i've got out of a single coat is 3 to 4 months with the car washed regular etc, on my car the Acrylic kit is addictive as soon as i put another layer of trigger on i go round with acylic gloss to boost the shine further;) smells nice to:)

I remember Adsayer got some good results on a budget by simply just building up layers of wax (Link here) (http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=94110)

Mums old 206 had been machine polished with the DA sometime ago and kept the finish up with the Jeffs Acrylic kit:y: sealent will always be wetter than a wax tbh, unless you want to spend loads of money on swissvax wax's or Zymol wax's.
