Right so ever since I bought the car it's had a little bit of whine when in 3rd or 5th gear, it drove spot on, I did a track day in it, still perfect so didn't get too concerned.

Just recently had the gearbox oil changed (Fuchs TITAN SINTOFLUID 75W-80 - good stuff) and done another track day and now the whine seems to be present in all gears.

It still drives really well and the gear change is absolutely spot on, no crunching or anything like that, just the noise.

I'm guessing it's a worn bearing in the 'box? If so is it an expensive fix?

may not be anything major but....had a whining from my vtr box, input bearings were shot, ended up me being 300 odd quid lighter for new box :(

Did you get a price for just getting the bearings fixed?

I know all the synchro's on my current 'box are good so would be reluctant to bin it because of a worn bearing...

may be some form of bearings mate is the whining constant or only when you change gears?

It's only when it's in gear and with the power on. If you lift off or dip the clutch the whining stops...
