iPhone 4 worth the cost?

I currently have an iPhone 3G but want to sell it and get either an iPhone 3G from ebay or an iPhone 4.

Is it worth spending the money on an iPhone 4? The money I get from my 3G should cover the cost the 4 but then it will cost me an extra £10/15 a month for the contract. However it would be brand new whereas a 3GS from ebay would be used.

What should I do? And what is the best network to go with?

I have the 3GS, iphone 4's not very good, my mate has 1 and I can never get hold of him because of apple mistake on making them,

If you get a 4 you need to get a bumper case to stop it sorting out and losing signal. I would get the 3GS if you ask me,

The 4 is well worth it imo. A £2.50 rubber case off of eBay I fitted to mine and haven't once had a signal issue. The HD camera is good as is the fact you can video record which you can't on the 3G and 3GS I don't think. It does have alot of cool features.

I have 3gs and you can record video with it.

I dont think its worth the upgrade if you have the 3gs, how ever it might be if you have the 3g. I remember when i had 3g it was very slow running 4.0 compared to my 3gs i got off insurance!

I've got the 3G atm and it's pretty slow, which is why I was gona get the 3GS. But I'll be getting a used phone so I may as well just get the 4 as I don't think it's gobs work out to be much more expensive.

Will definitely be getting a case for it in case I drop it :P and also for the signal thing.

I'll have a look today and see how much it'll cost for me to get them both, which I think will be pretty much the same. The 4 is a lot nicer than the 3GS so may as well go for if I can. :)

4 doesn't feel as good in your hand & its heavy

i have had both and can say that i prefer the look and feel of the 3gs in your hand, but for everything else the 4 is better

forward facing camera for video calls - i never use it but its there lol
better video recording quality

longer battery life - big one for me as my 3gs barely lasted a day when i fully abused facebook at work

the screen quality is alot sharper

I do like the look of the 4 though, plus everyone now has a 3g/s, when I got mine everyone was like wow as if you got an iphone, now like all of my mates have them. Have you looked into any others like the htv or sony ones?

I have the 3g and got my new upgrade yesterday being a Samsung Galaxy S, I played with my brothers iPhone 4 and hated it. not enough to justify the extra cash.
Major design floor and you can have the same OS on the 3GS.
I've just rooted my Galaxy and done the lag fix which has made it more than 2x as fast as what its shipped as.

Thanks for the replys, I'm gona get an iPhone 4 now I think. My 3G is over 18 months old now and really slow so may as well treat myself to a new phone. Selling the 3G will cover the extra cost and I can afford and extra 10/15 a month for the contract

I have had/got both and i honesty can say in my eyes the 4 is miles better with its screen alone

the 4 feels good in your hand once your used to it and the HD camera is always a plus

The iPhone 4 is worth the swap,

The battery life alone did it for me, not having to turn all the settings off to try and save battery and charging it every night,

I get 2 Days easy now with good usage

You get a free case with them now anyway lol
