Looks like samsung confirmed it on twitter, cant see why the o2 locked phones wouldnt allow it. Could be wrong though dont own the galaxy s.

Dunno, the HTC Desire has already had one 2.2 desire released but had some bugs apparently, so theyre realsing another 2.2 for them. Shouldnt be long for the Samsung 2.2 now then, any ideas if il have to update it manually or il get a notification on my phone for it?

If its the same procedure as the HTC Desire then it will be an over the air update. For this reason i would advise waiting untill your connected to wifi before begining to download it, rather than using 3g and it taking for ever or your connection dropping half way through, could cause problems.

O good stuff. Yeh il wait till im at home to do it incase anything fucks up. Hopefully cure my messaging app from crashin out all the time. If not il get another messagin app installed.

Its amazing mate! Havnt had an iPhone to compare. But il definatly be sticking with android now.

Everything works perfectly, so easy to use, screen is amazin. Very stable apart from the messaging app. Good features on it. Love it!

Pretty sure it's been delayed til end of october mate, I have a Galaxy S and love it, just waiting for 2.2 as it is meant to make the phone run so much smoother

Thanks correct it has been delayed, the date was set for 28th sept but has been put back till the end of oct. I have read its due samsung being dicks. Im waiting till 2.2 coms out to see if there is much difference if not then its getting rooted :P

Depending on the phone and network depends when you get it. Some phones/networks have had the update.

Upgraded mine last night, should be able to upgrade through Samsung Kies now! You have to make sure you upgrade to the latest version of Saumsung Kies too first :y:

Hmmm, so Samsung have started the 2.2 upgrade in england yesterday, nordic regions have had it for a while i think?

o2 customers to expect the branded update later in november. Ive still got to wait :(

Ah right, that sucks dude. I'm on Orange so maybe why I can get it now. Shame the network is shit can't get signal anywhere lol, 2.2 seems a nice upgrade still a bit buggy sometimes but meant to be better? Will have to wait and see really

Put a custom rom on my galaxy s as i was sick of all the crap that vodafone piled on it! using the Doc Froyo rom with lag fix, working brilliantly!

On vodafone you get several programs that will randomly pop up and annoy you and I never used, 360 people, vodafone store and some other crap, o2 probably don't put as much crap on lol

Orange havent put anything on my Galaxy S, Not sure if i like the new look of 2.2 im half tempted to get a Custom ROM.
The screen capture is a good new feature though :)

Sooo, all the previous bugs are now fixed and some nice new aditions, but its alot more laggy and unstable compared to before. Force closed my browser twince in the last hour :n:

I bought a Desire a few days ago and have installed 2.2 this evening; no lagging/ buggy problems at my end. I'm on the 3network if that makes any difference.

Since ive had 2.2 my phones been shit! Constantly crashing, texts becoming combined with other texts, reciving and sending text weeks later, very slow. Just plugged into Kies, and found another minor update, hopefully sort out these bugs!

Mines not to bad woth the 2.2 but they have released 2.3 with the new nexus s and its very good so it might get released soon hopefully

Android OS has actually taken over in number of users, over taking the iphone, but still below RIM i believe.

How ever this isnt surprising considering iOS is only on one phone;)

iOS > Android at the moment as i have heard to many problems, but i would still love the chance to own one, as i heard these problems are quickly being sorted in each new release.

Anyone put a custom rom on their phone?
I have a galaxy s and going to root it whenever i find my bloody usb cable lol, then install a custom rom like Darkys. Has some features from gingerbread 2.3 and looks generally awesome! :D
