Bank transfer is fine, it will just be paid directly into your bank account. Thats the way I would pay for stuff before I had paypal

Ask him to set up a paypal account - its hardly rocket science!

tell him he can pay by paypal WITHOUT having an account, you can use your debit/visa card through them for a one off payment.

Postal order just make sure its been/not been (cant remember) crossed and you can cash it in the post office.

No details need to be given except name and address

all of those methods he wants a well safter than paypal to you as seller and also cheaper :D

Bank transfers are nice and easy, if its crossed you have to cash it at your bank but its as good as the cash and its guaranteed to clear. I wouldnt worry if he sends it crossed, they quite often advise you to do it at the post office, means only the recipient can cash it.

I agree, well. Anything that avoids paypal and more specifically the paypal fees = win.

Best option is get him to put real cash in to your bank. Cash can not be reverse. Lets say your with HSBC he can just walk in to any and deposit the cash. He will also not have your home address then. It will come up as a cash deposit on your online banking.

They cant really do anything with that alone. They could do more damage with some basic info such as your name and mobile number. Or even just your home address on its own. So you may say the only safe way is paypal but for the fact as a buyer you will always win in a claim if you know how to word it. People are making there living by ripping of paypal users these days. We have had more then our fair share at my work. At least with cash you know you will defiantly end up with the cash.
