do you need crossovers to add tweeters or can you wire them in another way? an how?

you dont need to for them to work they could be added to the standard wiring by just splicing them in...however:
1) you will then change the impedance sent to the head unit and could run the risk of damaging both the speakers and the headunit
2) you would kill the tweeters pretty damn fast as they cannot play low notes.
Crossovers mean that the correct frequencies are sent to the correct speaker allowing better sound as each speaker plays the things it can play

can you buy crossovers seperate or do they come as part of a kit?

some crossovers come fitted. I bought some alpine comps and the crossovers were already joined to the wiring. A tiny little crossover on each speaker. I think most components come with there own crossovers anyway but could be wrong!

just amp them, what i have done and they are extremly ear piercing! had them over a year and a half, no problems with them, i think i even bridged them smileys/smiley17.gif
