Ok, so car got broken into last night - nothing major, and didnt take anything of any value.
However i dont have a clue who it is, and have contacted the police about criminal damage. They have tried toget into the car by (it looks like kicking the door in, or maybe getting something with some power and trying to smash it in on the drivers door, as there is quite a big dent in the side of it.
The police has estimated it to be around 400 quid's worth of damage.
And for some odd reason, the alarm didnt go off :/ ?
They cant of been that knowledgeable as there is easyier ways to brake into a saxo than the way they did, and i cant see that they knew how to disconnect the alarm..

Whats the next step?

The police said i can get some money from victim support or something :S
As i dont want to have to go down the insurance route as i dont want my insurance going up by me claiming, and am short of cash atm. Would it be more sensible to fit a dummy camera outside my house?
Even a real one?

Any suggestions at all?
But before you saying go kick the twats in, i would, but i dont know who they are!

I had my nova broken into last year,They bent the door open and then didnt take anything.
I contacted the police and had to take it to the station for fingerprinting, they found plenty of prints and said they'd be in touch. I never heard another thing off them. The police wont do fuck all.

Same here, they came round with the posh brush, found fingerprints and stuff and said they would be in contact next few weeks lol.

claim what you can and get a door from the srcappy or off here and the change is compo.

and generaly you dont no who it is who breaks in or what not, well untill they chat about it to people who will more than likly chat about it and maybe you will hear about it, then its in your hands and you can do as you wish. i personally like the bat and balaclava aproch

Victim support is a volunter group who offer advice and support about going to court, Which is not relevant here so i guess you missunderstood them maybe.

I think you might be reffering to the M.I.B (motor insurers bureau) They pay out for uninsured accidents only, Damage/attempt break in will only be covered by your insurance or unfortunately yourself.

A few things like external light with PIR sensor, CCTV or parkintg elsewhere might help but if its not worth much i know a few mates who leave there cars unlocked with no items of value inside that way they can lokk in and have nothing to nick plus they dont damage it in the process BUT its only worth doing on a run around shed..

My advice get on Egay or down the scappy
