my girlfreinds car doesnt idle great, i decided to clean the stepper motor only to find 2 of the 3 torx screws had been rounded off in the past.
the engine is like this one below (credit to the op for the image)

the stepper motor is circled. any idea how to remove those screws?
the car is a 2000 1.1 mk 2, is this the correct engine setup as my freinds 2000 1.1 engine is different to this one seems strange to me, is this an older engine?

bit dodgy with welding though as all around is fuel pipes and a plastic inlet mani

i tried to bang a bigger torx in there with a hammer with no luck, theres no room to get mole grips in there even with the airbox removed. i could disconnect the top of the inlet manifold i suppose but that seems like im using a shotgun to kill a fly.
i could buy one of those 90 degree drill bits and try and drill them out,
ps anyone know if this is the correct engine typre for a mk 2 im confused

The engine being a 2000 is the changeover between the older Single Point Injection (black rocker cover) and the newer Multi-Point injection (silver rocker cover).
Obviously you have the older type engine, unlucky lol.

Whack a socket just big enough to fit over the head of the torx screw, i find female torx sockets are best at getting off rounded bolts! Good luck
