Hello all

Apologies if this has been asked before, I've looked through the sticky's and can't find anything

Fuse 12 keeps blowing in my sons 2000 saxo. Looking at the fuse map, i see it covers the side lights, stereo, lighter, door open alarm, facia lights etc.

He has a blown bulk on the right rear tail light (Brake lights are OK and i swapped the bulbs to check it wasn't a wiring thing.

My question is .. Would a blown tail light make the fuse blow (Maybe id the other bulb was trying to draw too much current)?

Going to change all the bulbs tomorrow but any advice up from would be appreciated. I HATE ELECTRICS !

Many thanks

Best bet is to double check everything that the fuse is wired to, see if theres a short somwhere. could be water behind the tail light?

Bulbs blowin can sometimes cause a fuse to go. check the bulb holder for any breaks i had one in mine and had to solder a bit of wire on and it was perfect after :)

Thanks for the replies and advice.

Changed tail and side light bulbs this morning (poured about 1/2 and egg cup of water out of the near side light cluster).

Switched ignitian on, ........ fuse blew........ Bollox!

So, time for a step by step

What's easiest to remove? The stereo. Pulled it out of the facia fitted new fuse and "Bobs your uncle" we have all ligts and an intact fuse.

Looked at the multi pin connector and one of the auxilliary power wires was swinging in the breeze, right in between the main feed and earth. Insulated and tied it up.

Job done. Bought him a Haynes too !

Silly little fault but i'm quite chuffed with myself.:clapping:

Hi There,

Had this problems with min i got a inline fuse a rigged all the lights upto a different fuse i wired it in by the fuse box so some1 can find it but u can put it where you want. This seem to stop the problem weather its taking some current out of the circuit that Citroen have overloaded i dont no but this also takes the relay out when u do this and the earth so a new earth wire to clean metal adn wire in a relay and you should be good to go dont try it if u dont no sparks thought its easy if u no what your doing
