right so ive been having a think lately and im sick of getting branded as a chav/boy racer because i modify my car so.. i was thinking of making a group that basically shows people in your area what we stand for..

im not 100% sure how to do this all ive come up with so far is get a group going on facebook and get some stickers made up labelling the name.

im still not sure on a name either but ill appreciate any idea's and this group can be for where ever not just my area only if you would like a sticker get it made up yourself as you probably could get them done cheaper than me :y:

so what are peoples thoughts? idea's welcome too :y:

No matter what, you will always be labeled in that group, look at all the scooby and evo drivers, there all wankers - and thats their label, the reason why saxo's will always be the chav type is because they are cheap to buy and insure, and the majority of young'uns that buy them are driving them like idiots.

Just get a vinyl on the side of your car with ''what are you looking at?'' Lol

Tbh I don't care what other people think of me, boy racer etc. I'm just like any other driver, but like my car to be different.

The only time you can be a petrol head/car enthusiast is if you have a super car.

LOL ^ You don't know the meaning of 'enthusiast' then?

Someone that buys an old Mk1 Nova and restores it to mint condition again and drives it, is a car enthusiast..

Someone that buys say an Evo 6, and keeps it very well maintained, polished, serviced regularly and treats it well, is a car enthusiast..doesn't need to be a supercar

Could not have said it better. I've seen some "enthusiasts" with super cars..they hardly know anything about them...they just have the money to buy it and that's about it.

TBH most people with supercars pay someone to do the work for them, rather than get there million doller hands dirty. Its all about the DIY :y:

It's not even that. Taking a genuine interest in the car you have, taking part in activities that celebrate your car would be the least they could do considering they have an amazing car. It's sad the amount of high end customers I deal with who know fuck all about their cars, and fuck them up in the strangest ways possible..they literally see it as a machine to transport them about.

Weird to apply that to a car such as a Mercedes CL or Aston Martin DB9 tbh..

maybe i should try to keep this in the local area then as tonto said it has already been done and it'd probably be too much hassle with one for all over.

thanks for peoples input anyway :y:

Hate to sound picky, but you will find it hard toi get away from the boy racer tag when you have things like a 4" exhaust on your saxo like previously Mr hogey

samjac68

people will call you a chav and a boy racer for driving a saxo, doesnt matter if its a vielside bodykit and jap can, or its some tasteful euro styling.

only way you can not be branded a boy racer chav driving a saxo is if your 40-80, and are driving a 1.0 or 1.1 model with 'a dog is for life, not just for christmas' sticker, tartan seat covers and your faux hat and walking stick on the parcel shelf. its the steriotype that follows a saxo, i get it all the time and all ive got is ax gt wheels and tints lol...

people in your area wont give a shit if you say 'oh this is my group, we dont chav our cars up, were enthusiasts'. fuck what other people think, drive whatever makes you happy.

Isn't the whole point of modding to be different and get noticed?

peoples thoughts?

It seems that, in UK: whatever car you buy, you will end up in a certain category.

sick of getting branded as a chav/boy racer because i modify my car

Easy to solve:
remove all the chav looking stickers: pedobear, shocker at back, monster advert stickers and chessboard stuff on roof
remove noisy exhaust
remove noisy air filter
remove white peugeot wheels (it's a saxo)
racing seats (it's a 1.1)
remove white mirrors
remove blue foglights
red rear brakes :/

I mean't without being branded a chav or being stereotyped you narrow minded fuckwit.
