Marks on glass?!?

Hi guys I recently got a new car and their are some weird marks on the back window they are quite faint but they're over the whole window. It looks like a chemical or soap has dried on it. I have tried glass polish and I have clayed it and it hasn't budged any ideas?

I would go over it with an APC to remove and grease or shit thats on it, then go over that with a glass polish, the seal it.

I think the glass is slightly marked rather than something being on it.

Normally you get a greasy film on the glass which is a bitch to remove.

Silly question but are the windows tinted?

Reason i ask is on my vts the rears have a very light tint, the guy who fitted the film cleaned the glass prior to fitting the film but did a shit job so from the inside you can see slight greasy marks in the corners that will not be removed unless i remove the tint.

if it is a chemical that has dried on it then i would go for a glass polish like james has suggested.

I'm not to sure whether it is a chemical or not but it looks that way it is on the outside by the way and the window isn't tinted. I have already polished it and clayed it
