Thousands of pensioners drive Saxo's. Just because boy racers drive them too does not mean you need to grow up, saying that based on your choice of car is retarded.

If they want to pay for the costs of you having a new car, then fine, as long as you get to have what you want. Such as, a sporty car. And that they pay for the insurance and everything till you can afford it.
A car is what you need to get around, but apart from that, a car is like a pair a trainers. You only like certain makes and only wear certain makes. If the car suits you, tell them to stick it.

Im 21 and have a Furio. A car is the choice of yourself and should not be dictated by anyone other than yourself. Not exactly expensive cars are they, and cheap to run. Tell them that and see how they react :y:

3rd October 2010, 18:09
To be fair a decent vts is 2k I would rather pay 2.5k and get a 172 much better car all round
MellKat86
3rd October 2010, 18:13
Poco, unless you want to give it away and go for a "practical" car?
moxy89

2k vts will be decent miles one geta 172 for 2.5k will be a shitter

Not really the Clio is better made in every way, better engine, better brakes, more comfort, safer and faster.
May have more miles but will be more reliable to.

To be fair, you do look considerably older than 25

And seats that you fall off round every bend. Only real downside ive found on 172s

Just no point the same as this thread tbh.
You have purchased a car that you think is amazing and now people with sense are putting ideas in your head that you need to be driving something more sensible.
So what do you do, put a thread up on saxp a site full of saxo owners around the same age as you to put your mind at rest that you havent wasted your money.
However why do you need a vts if its like most other people on here its to "race people off the lights bruv" so again no.
In my opinion there are better cars out there than saxos but I know everyone else on here thinks they are amazing.
End of the day its your money, I would have saved more and got a better car or spent less and got a furio and saved money everytime you go out in it.
Alas end of reply.
MellKat86
3rd October 2010, 18:58
I'm not one of those that think Saxo's are the best car on the market. They're just a good little run around that you can have a laugh in. But If I had the money, I'd be out the door buying myself an Astra SXI.

Ask them if you need a newer car to be able to grow up... As far as i'm aware, the age of your car made no difference to how grown up you are...
Rodney
3rd October 2010, 19:04
Okay Jason well don't read the thread then buddy, simple
-Jason-
3rd October 2010, 19:17
Why put the thread up if you dont want other peoples opinions?
Im offering the opinion that you are to old for a vts and should have a better car and your just listening to the rest of the sheep on here.
Rodney
3rd October 2010, 19:26
That's fair enough buddy don't wish to make enemies on here, thanks for your opinion.
Liam
3rd October 2010, 19:33
Bullshit. You can not be too old for a car. My mates Granddad owns a VTS. I see a lot of older people in VTR's on the M4, which I use Monday to Friday to go to work and back.

I agree! Tell them to fuck off!
Im 20 and was going to get a big slow dirty derv, but then I thought fuck it! I'm young and shall enjoy myself, I'll get a derv when I'm knocking on 50 thanks

Exactly. TBH I hate my Saxo. I just don't know what car I want. It's easy to pick a car when you haven't got a lot of money to spend, because you buy what you can afford.
I can afford to spend a fair amount of money on one, which is why I haven't got one yet. There are like 20 cars I would like to buy, but I can't have them all. So I'll wait.
My mate owns a 182 and he is 19. So based on Jason's opinion anyone over the age of 20 is now too old to own a Clio Sport.

In response to the above name a better modern safe car thats still quick for £3k.
If you can find one thats as good as a clio cup and still does 40+mpg and is quick I will be impressed.
Clio is everything the saxo is and more.

Your mates are probably telling you to get rid because they are pissed off that you've spent a dam sight less buying your car, and can probably out-perform theres.

Bad grammar and also its not all about performance.
I would have a diesel Range rover over a vts and the vts is probably quicker to 60 therefore out performing it.

I didnt say the clio isnt better then the saxo, of course it is, but its still not the best car in the world.
Seat Ibiza 1.8t would be my choice, i think you can get one for under 3K.

What are you actually trying to say? A Range Rover is of course much more expensive than a Saxo, can't really compare them fairly.
