Wobbly gear stick Ball joint

I was told i needed the roll pin to fix my wobbly gear stick so i bought the pin and fitted it buy no joy :( its definately the rubber ball joint, The ball has play on the part which its supposed to sit inside.

is there something that is supposed to sit inside the the metal circle bit? like a thin bit of rubber?

or is it just a worn ball? can i buy just the new ball and put it all on? or is it all one pice on the controller arm?

same problem on mine, replaced the part with the ball on and still wobbles replaced all gear linkages with quick shift links still wobbles only thing i havent replaced is the part form the gear stick to the part that the ball part links to and from what i can see you have to take the exhaust off to drop it so ive not touched it yet as ive got bigger problems with a dodgy repair on axle. hope this helps any way

thanks mate, so you had the new ball? so maby there is supposed to be something inside the part which comes from the gear stick. you know the round bit? i think there should be a rubber piece inside there?

hi mate ive got the same problem but havent changed anything yet, ill guess ill start of with replacing the roll pin, however i cant get it out.. how does it come out ? Cheers bud

get a screw driver or punch and a hammmer. remove air box/filter give it a few bangs ;)

ive found out its not my ball joint, i took all the linkages off, wrapped a few layers of duck tape round the ball so it would fill the hole up better and it was snug. and it still wobbled so i now think its the two plastic bushs on the bottom of the gear stick so i have ordered them :)
