I know everybody is hanging out of FIFA 11 like a winnet ATM but is anyone going against the grain and purchasing PES2011, I have the demo and IMO it seems fantastic. + Proper UEFA CL!

Annnnnddd only £35!

I've pre-ordered it for the PC. The demo was great but they have really messed the full version up! Its way too fast now and the players never seem to be in the correct position. For example, I had a game as Chelsea the other night and Anelka was constantly dropping deep into his own half even though I had set in the tactics never to sap position and to stay out wide. Another one was playing as Newcastle and Carroll was always in his own half even when the wingers had the ball out wide, he should be waiting in the box, and Enrique was always the furthest man upfront. Its so frustrating that they have ruined a really good game after playing the demo.

It is released in Europe. You can see over at Evo-Web in the PES2011 Discussion thread that people are disappointed with the full game after playing the demo. Lets just say I got the PC version by 'other means' and I agree with what they are saying. I have it Pre-ordered from ShopTo and will get it Friday anyway.

FIFA seems un-touchable tbh, for me anyway.

So no matter how good this new PES is, it wont touch FIFA, just wont.

But like I say, the demo seems improved from 10 so Ive pre-ordered 11 for £35 from GAME!

FIFA just doesnt feel the same as Pro Evo tbh. When playing FIFA every match and player feels the same. With Pro every player feels different and plays as they do in real life. If the tactics get sorted in PES2011, it will be a great game.

@Peter. I noticed in the FIFA11 thread you mentioned about Pro Evo having the fake names such as Man Blue, etc? Have you seen the WENB Option File they are doing? Its got all the correct kits, teams and logos for the PS3:

I'm sitting on PES2011 now, and most of the English Teams have shit names like old PES's but it says you can change team names and even import data for the team-badge, how do I do this on PS3 GJF47?

Im not sure mate, I play on PC. The Option File from WENB will have the install instructions with it I should think. Keep an eye on the thread here, they say it may be released tonight:

Im guessing you transfer the data to the PS3 with a USB stick, but it should have full instructions with the download when it is released :y:

If you've got another usb stick someone over on Evo-Web.co.uk has made a massive chantpack with chants for all the teams. The default crowd sounds in the game are crap so it might be worth the download.

If you read it carefully it says it's only BLES-1021.

Most PES2011s are BLES-1020 iirc?!

Its seriously good im addicted, ..dare I say it..a contender for FIFA 11?!

Its abit harder to get the passing right, theres no automated passing like in FIFA, so when you press X, it doesnt just go to the closest player, you have to direct it and power it, but fore that alone its more rewarding than FIFA.

It looks better aswell, the UEFA CL is immense, the menus are pristine, and unlockables, XC and customization are top-notch.

Only bad things are, that its still slightly robotic to play, the commentary is woeful and obviously the lack of licensing, but that can be changed.

You should give that WENB Option File a try, they said they are hoping it will be out late tonight or tomorrow evening latest. Or is it too late to cancel your order for the update? Also, give the chantspack a try mate. The atmosphere will be so much better and you wont notice the shitty commentary as much lol

Oh yeah forgot to mention that, that is by far the worst part of the game lul, and what makes it worse is theres no "trigger" button, say in FIFA your'e in a good position, you whack L1, and a player darts and makes a run infront of you..Should be some of that here with PES, but nothing a S/w update cant fix I suppose?!

& Yeah its too late to cancel the order I think, but I think ill give the chants-thingy a go, they are worse than the commentary lol.

I cannot remember what it's called off the top of my head, but it's the ones where you adjust the numbers from 1-20.

Yeah offside is another pain in the arse! Fair enough if the players wander offside, but they just seem to stand there and take ages to get back onside and by the time they do you get tackled and give the ball away :wall:

I find it better playing with the smaller teams tbh. Had a great game as Birmingham vs Villa earlier! Its a big improvement on 2010 but there are still a few annoying bugs that need to be sorted.

I relied a lot on R2 in PES2009 but it doesn't seem as responsive on 2011 so far.

Not enjoying this at all after bumping it up to Professional in my Master League.

I won everything in my first season, league, cup, CL so thought it was time to move up.

How wrong was I?!

I just get fouled (with no foul given), beaten off the ball, outnumbered and then countered by 1 or 2 players who seem like Supermen in terms of strength!

It's a joke. Teams like Stoke, Birmingham, Wigan and West Brom seem to play a back 4 then 3 DMs right in front of them and it makes it virtually impossible to score and is really fucking me off. :wall:

I'll give it 2 more games and then admit defeat and drop back down to whatever level 3 is called :(

Copy & Paste of what I wrote on Evo Web:

1. Players constantly wandering offside and just standing there. By the time they get back onside you get tackled and lose the ball.

2. Wingers not getting forward. They always seem to drop behind the fullback when you have the ball, even with Player Support set to 15-20.

3. Players in the wrong position. A few games now I have noticed its always the left back out of position. Played and Newcastle and Everton and each time both Enrique and Baines were upfront in the centre of the pitch furthest forward. Same thing happens with Chelsea and Ashley Cole. Maybe its a problem with the game as it always seems to be the left back wandering?

4. Players standing in groups of 3 or 4 and not spreading around, even when the tactics are set for them to be more spread apart.

5. Fouls. When playing against the CPU they seem to pull you back and kick from behind with no free kick ever given against them If you so much as fart on one of their players, the ref blow straight away.

These are just a few of the things really killing the game for me at the moment. Found myself playing FIFA more and more recently tbh

Pretty much spot on with my bug-bears with the game.

Your number 2 would include forwards. I can never find a forward who gets on the end of my crosses or makes darting runs.

Number 5 is a massive point, this can get beyond a joke tbh.

I stuck with level 4 btw, and have begun winning again, all be it with Rooney and Ronaldo in my team. Defoe and Pavs wouldn't stand a chance of doing anything at this level.
