Your Saxo - on TV?!

I have been approached by a TV company who are looking for two Saxos to appear in a TV shoot next week.

The shoot will be taking place on a private course in the Home Counties.

Two Saxos are needed :-

One needs to be a standard VTR or VTS... or virtually standard

One needs to be modified... no limits. Engine modifications not essential... and non-engine mod's would be preferred.

Further details will be available once the participants are known. I aim to have a definitive date available in the morning.

So, if you can be available on a day next week for a full days shoot then please register your interest here, and/or contact myself and Scott, who will be collating the info ready to communicate to the TV company. When intereted parties are known, photos will be needed to pass on.

For info, the show will be shown on Channel 5 and the discovery channel and is hosted by Chris Barrie.

The show is highlighting the Saxo as one of the principle cars in starting the trend toward people modifying relatively cheap cars themselves.

On the same day we will be filming a Mk1 Golf GTi and we will be saying how hot hatches lost popularity due to spiraling insurance costs. We will be talking about how cars with small engines (to keep within lower insurance brackets) were used to express the owners individuality. So ideally we will want one heavily modified one, the less similiarity to a normal Saxo the better, but this car needn’t have many engine mods, in fact the less the better to highlight our story that these cars were sometime modified more for appearance than for performance.

The TV guys will make the decision, not anyone else they will decide what they are looking for. The spec is highly modified ideally as far from original as possible. The other is for a lowly modified car it doesnt have to be 100% standard and as said the tv guys will make that decision not anyone on here.

I think the thread your referring to was for a BBC ad, which I arranged through sax-p and SSC.

The thing with TV setups is that its always last minute. They wont confirm a date iuntil they know everything is setup and remeber the weather plays a major role.

All details have been passed on and if it happens, it will happen.

I have spoken to Ronan this morning, who says he will be calling owners today to make arrangements for the shoot on Friday, which will most likely be happening in Aylesbury.

Ronan has told me that if any of the other names/cars put forward would like to attend on the day, then something could 'possibly' be worked out.

If you are able/willing to turn up to this shoot, then I can put you in touch with Ronan (as he has requested)... let me know!

If a number of local people are willing to go down to the shoot at no cost to the TV company, then there is a good chance of being featured in the shoot.

There has also been some talk of night time shoots in parade, etc.

Unfortunately Amanda is no longer able to attend the shoot on Friday and therefore we REALLY need another standard Saxo.
