Hi Alll

My MOT is not this weekend, but next - Driving home last night I managed to get a rather large stone / rock flick up and crack my windscreen a little.

There is a small chip in the windscreen about a couple of MM, but there is also a crack behind this chip :(

The crack itself is between 10mm and 15mm I would guess... and its located basically where my satnav cradle is on the drivers side?:

Am i looking at a new windscreen before the MOT?

If its bigger than 1cm in the "a" zone it will fail, "a" zone being infront of the driver

if outside then its 4 cm

You might just get away with it being where it is

Dont think so mate. A mate of mine has a chip in his and has passed the last 5 MOT's but he did have an advisory for it saying something under 10mm or that not too sure.

But if its right in your view they might fail it. If the chip is lower end of the window i wouldnt bother :y:

If its not in the drivers immediate view and it is less than 3cm it should be fine mate.
I had a monster chip in my screen that was almost certainly a failure and it was passed.

Depends where the crack is and how big.

Check the MOT check sticky on here it might be in there.
