I've heard the Karcher one is pretty useless mate. Won't fit unless you have Karcher pressure wash either.

This is what you want (http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/foam-lance-various-fittings/prod_371.html).

What does everyone do for the mixture in the bottle? I have some snow foam & a few other products, does anyone make a concoction or just use diluted snow foam?

The Karcher foam lance really isn't that bad, had one before I got the AB HD Lance.

About an inch of Snowfoam and a squirt of Meguiars Soft Wash, topped with warm water for general foaming/cleaning.

Inch if Snowfoam and an inch of APC topped with warm water for cleaning/stripping wax.

Sorry to hijack but what's this snowfoam like?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/UK-VALET-CHERRY-SNOW-FOAM-BULK-25L-DRUM-TRADE-/120484500107?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c0d6f928b

5L costs £16 delivered, so works out cheap buying the 25L of it! Is it any good or aload of shite?

I'm gonna buy that Nilfisk C110 pressure washer very soon and 25L of this stuff if it's any use.. I'm not bothered if it's not the best stuff around but if it does the job then it's good enough for me...just to give the car a snow foam once a week over the winter to keep it fresh, as i won't be doing any proper cleaning over the winter, maybe once or twice at the most

The Nilfisk comes with a foam lance which is suitable for decent snowfoaming, James had one and has said it's not the greatest but adequate.

That snowfoam would be fine for the price. I've only ever used Valet Pro PH Neutral Snowfoam which was good but had no smell :homme: and Autobrite Supa Snow Foam which smells sexual and works just as well, it's the pink stuff that you always see.

Snowfoaming is IMO one of the most effective and easiest jobs to do when it comes to cleaning/detailing. Will get rid of most of the surface dirt on the first covering/rinse and nearly all of it by the second. Would be worth doing a quick 2BM on the second foaming to make sure its fully clean. Could do a full wash and dry within 20 minutes.

25 litres is an awful lot, I have 5 litres and it feels like it's going to last for ever!

Peter_D

Yeah 25L is alot, but 5L is £16 and the 25L is only like £38 or something...so might aswell pay the extra, it'll last ages, and i wont be a scrooge when filling the bottle with it haha

Cheers Mikey, looks like i'll be going for that then and the Nilfisk pressure washer

Well general procedure would be a quick snow foam, wheels cleaned, rinse, snow foam, 2BM, rinse and dry. Then a quick once over with Dodo Juice Red Mist.

But I fully detailed my car not long ago, including a machine polish and 3 layers of Dodo Juice Orange Crush so it only needs topping up.

Am in the process of my winter protection detail this week so expect a new thread up soon !
