if he is still in the 2 year period of passing his test then he will lose it and will have to take a harder test next time round i think
if he been driving under 2 years he will only get banned....

he should just accept the points & fine as he was speeding. will lose his license by the sounds of it though. will have to take an extended test as well, think its 1.5hrs
I know someone who is 17 with 6 points before he had a car - Moped Speeding lol.
So - How comes he can drive? x

they do, if you get 6 points or more within 2 years you have to retake your test
I had 3 points on my licence and got a letter through the post saying i had sped in a 30 limit doing 36 which i know i shouldn't of. This was in my first two years, in the end i went to court instead of taking the 3points and £60 fine. At court i got a bigger fine but no points and was only banned for 6 weeks and i didn't have to do my test again!
if hes been driving for less than 2years, they will take away his licience and he will have to do his test again. you dont actually get banned, just reverted back to a learner and it starts again.
This happened to me smileys/smiley5.gif smileys/smiley9.gif
but the points will stay on his licience for 4yrs and can be held against him if he gets caurght again, like me when i was banned after passing my test again smileys/smiley9.gif smileys/smiley13.gif smileys/smiley17.gif
MORAL OF THE STORY........
DONT SPEED!
i lernt the hard way smileys/smiley5.gif
