Last week i was on holiday and the car was stood still for 5 days, so i went to start it and the battery was flat so jump started it and away i went to work (20 mins drive, dewsbury to huddesfield) when i parked up i unhooked the neg terminal, came back 2 hours later and bat was flat again, jump started then got home and over night unhooked the bat again and then the same thing happens, morning flat battery, work its dead by the end of my shift, next day. this happened for 3 days and again yesturday leaving work i had to jump start it but last night i left the battery intact and come this morning it started straight away.
so my question is how did that happen when for 3 days i had to jump start it and now no problems.
And the battery is only a few months old as is the alternator aswell.
p.s hope iv explained this in english :p

Why did you keep unhooking it?

Most places will do a battery check for free so might be worth getting one done.

My mums old escort had a similar problem and it was the alternator.

Why did you keep unhooking it?

Because i thought something was draining the battery, so i unhooked it when it was parked up so nothing could drain the battery and it would charge up whilst driving or untill i could give it a good run.

They are both quite new only a few months old, but i will get a battery check just in case.
