i know its been posted before. but i have a problem..

my parents and the neighbours use Watering can for the garden, and ive been told that i cant wash my car with a bucket? apparantly only the windows for obvious reasons..

but am i allowed? my argument is that i DONT passionatly water the flowers day in day out in my garden, and i like to clean my car once a week. A neighbour came over to me and said if i was allowed to use the bucket, so i went on a browse on the Tinternet,

one website said use a Bucket to wash your car as a hosepipe uses 30% more water..

could i have your views please? because i dont want to be reported, because thats Exactly what ill say in court.

For what I know, using a bucket to clean your car is ok. My neighbour used to moan at me every time for cleaning my car, he said he couldn't wait until the hosepipe ban came out - all I had to say back was "lucky I don't use the hose then!" Since then he's not said a word.
I remember looking about on the net and I couldn't see any restrictions for using a bucket mate.

Im not using a car wash, i fixed, built, refurbed, serviced, and installed car wash machines for 2 years, and i know the state they are in.

i mean come on, the water is stagment crap in the plant room, the chemicals go off and stink, the brushes dont last long, and the splits at the end which are soft, soon go to sharp spikes, the dryers often blow out crap onto the car..

i had a turqoise merc vito for my work van, te color faded in 2years, after constant test washes etc.

and brushes are only held on with either 6 13mil bolts or 4 17mil. and they become unthreaded alot, Loctite goes mouldy and works its way free and rips of the brush pole.

dryer units are only held on my crappy rienforced rubber track, which often splits and causes the car wash to be stuck with your CAR until somone like me, reset the damn thing

for example if a side brush switch or photocell goes tits up or isent cleaned the brush doesent know where to go, and may slam into the car, (the brushes are either riveted or BOLTED into the pole, which could scratch the car)

ohh and best one of all, is the Jets, they are aluminium, they rot, they clog up with dirt, they dont work.

so in theory all your getting is cold water abit of shampoo and a quick light brush, then a blow dry which you mightaswel use your girlfriends hair dryer.

RANT OVER

Fucking hose pipe ban is pissing me off.... I wanna use the pressure washer on the front path, but can't.

Thing that makes me laugh is that all the DIY/Gardening shops haven't taken the hopepipes off the shlves and places like B&Q have got a whole isle full of hosepipes and connectors etc.

If someone starts on you for using a bucket, just tell 'em you are compensating by not having a bath, then ask them if they want a sniff lol

haha, be like a few of my friends, cos they live on farms they practically use 50% of the worlds water too clean their cars. xo

well it could be worse I s'pose. They could impose a car ban due to the depletion of the worlds oil reserves

lol, just have the hose pipe next to the car when you are cleaning it but
use it to fill the buckets. Technically all you are doing is filling the bucket
with water!

Can I use a water butt, then have that running through the hose into the pressure washer and then on to my garden path to clean it? smileys/smiley4.gif
