Smoked Tail lights

Id like some smoked tail lights for my black mk1.
If I were to use tint spray from halfords to do the top half of the lights (the half that doesnt have reflecters) would it be legal and pass an MOT?

Aslong as you dont put too much spray on so you can see all the lights clearly in daylight aswell as night, then yes.

i used the stuff from halfords and strongly dont recomend it it just ran of the lights it didnt stick at all. i sprayed it on in small coats and it just didnt work :wall:

e-tech spray off ebay is what you need

yeap e tech stuff is good. mine are dark and got advisory on mot day as it discoloured lights. if way to dark you may need to add a reflector.
