Anyone that has replaced a mk1 grille with mesh...what the hell did you use to hold the mesh on? I had it on with the original screws but it didnt sit flush, I have now tried about 4 times to hold it on flush but everything I try to hold it on with doesnt work....it keeps coming detached at the bottom smileys/smiley7.gif

fibre glass or sikaflex both good to work with.once used its going no where + if you want flush you will need to snap the plastic lugs that stick up. mesh down tap with a rubber hammer to get it sitting flat and flush then bobs you uncle smileys/smiley2.gif fibre glass over the edge leave for 4 or so hours job done smileys/smiley2.gif

i used silicone to get the grille to sit flush . that way i can keep the plastic lug's when i want to put the standard grille back on .

i cheated, snapped the plastic lugs when you take the original grille out, tried to keep it in place with silicone but same problem as yourself it wouldn't stay put soooooo i took the citroen chevrons of the original grill, siliconed the mesh as best i could and then screwed the original behind the mesh works a treat!! smileys/smiley2.gif
