Basically, today is sh!t. Nothing bad has happened though!

I've been in work since 8.15am and i've literally done nothing and can't bring my self to do anything!

I have college work to do for tomoz but again, i can't seem to bring my self to do it!!

Im in my final year in college (4th year) and i absolutly hate it and i want to quit...not really a good idea though as last year would be a waste of time! :wall:

I also hate my job, im a Engineering Trainee Technician, basically im working on Auto CAD all friggin day drawing buildings and bridges etc...

Another note: Im getting a massive poo stain wage for what i do...which makes me want to quit work and college even more!!!!!!!!!!!!


Ideally i want to be a Fireman as im more of a hands on guy but it seems to be impossible to get a job as one in my area which is more of a downer!!


Anyone have days like these?

shit happens, council had to make cutbacks, and as i had only been there 3 years, decided to lay me of, which was nice of them. struggling to find a job, applied for every xmas job possible, and applied for a job at la farge with a wage starting at 25k which im hoping to hear from.

i'd stick with the college thing though mate, and even if you've got a crappy engineering job, its a good profession to be in, just have to work your way to the top.

i was in EXACTLY the same shoes as you not so long ago. I was a design engineer working in a ship yard completely hated it as i was sat in a shit office all day everyday. I hated college because i wasnt arsed about the job as i was in so couldnt motivate myseld to work towards it. fucked college up last year but they give me extensions so now im working on what i fucked up to stay in college.

i also wanted to be a fireman looked into it but as i was, i managed to get a different job in the same company as a Commissioning Engineer. Its both office work and hands on, mainly hands on so best of both worlds.

stick it in till ur out your time mate then look elsewhere. i was in exactly the same position as you and ive came out ok off it just have to knuckle down abit

Enjoy my college course, Public Services Extended Diploma Level 3. Great people in my class. Burnley College is a good college. Time table is, Wednesday 9 till 1, Thursday 9 till 5, Friday 9 till 4. Can't argue with that eh.

However i have a job at DunkenHalgh Hotel and Spa and even though i meet famous people and footballers. Wage is shit. Best thing about it is i work with many fine women ha.

im on my 2nd year off HNC. still putting work in from year 1 cos i fucked about that much cos i hated my job. now they changed my job and its a descent job i promised to sort myself out so they were pretty descent and gave me extensions on it. start looking for other jobs and looking into other careers whilst your finishing that off. look for jobs that you can have with your qualifications and trade, you will eventually find something and then give you the motivation to stick this out. as your looking for other stuff time will fly by as well so you will be out your training and quicker than college sooner than you think

See I love my uni course and everything i do as its my dream career I am working towards and I still cant get my arse into gear to do work....When ever I am home in the holidays working on the car I always wish I was training to be a mechanic or something as that is also something I love doing.....I always end up doubting myself even though I know I have it good....If that makes sense...?

I can relate to this alot! im in my 4th year at college aswell doing mechanical engineering apprenticeship. college work bores me, i got nvq lvl3 work i need to do but really cant be bothered. Im on a shit wage aswell for what i do as i do the same amount of work sometimes more than people who are on twice my wage yet if i slack i get picked up on it and they dont. Id love to leave my job but im holding out till my 4th year and im really considering going back to being a mechanic, but id advise to you against quitting college, dont go and waste 3 years of your life mate as the qualification might help you in later life

My day hasn't been too great either :( mind you I've been having a few fair shit days of late :(

It all started ok....then because my car is fucked I'm having to get the bus, it was late so I froze to death while waiting, then he short changed me, then he drove like a complete utter bellend going over humps at crazy speeds (I have a bad back and it hurt)

Got to work later than I would have liked, so meant had to stay later :( anyway made a doctors appointment to get my ankle looked at.....went to Cream in Liverpool last Saturday to see PVD and I fell and hurt my ankle lol, on the way in...just my luck haha...anyways it is still swollen, painful and some mad bruising going on.....so doc has a look, could be fractured!! Got to go for an xray.....the end (for now) :P

yes work is crapolla here to they can't do anything right for example taking flex time to finish early booking it all in on db but not actually updating schedule at all yeah good idea so screw them im working whats on the schedule

Tbh, I think anyone in a job they have currently should stick it through. Getting jobs/careers is incredibly hard right now, so imo, soldiering on until something better comes rather than quitting is the best way.

My day has been completely odd. Took day off work as I had my Special Constable assessment day in London. Now that I'm back home early..it feels wrong to be home at this time.
