i went to asda last night, and then drove home...

got home locked the car, and done the usual, look back over the shoulder to have a last minute perv!

and i noticed this!!!!!

some scum fucker has hit it, and fucked off. no details left.. nothing.

it really pissed me off, coz my car was perfect. not a dent, not a scratch anywhere. paintwork was minted. and was ready to lower it next weekend... and then this

just spent £250 on repairs/tweaks this last 2 weeks aswel... now i have to shell out again.

i phoned asda, and they wont even check the camera's for me to see if it was there where it happened. even though i am 90% sure it was.

they said i have to get the police involved, but thats a lengthy process as there all lazy fuckers round my way.

some people just need killing.

how would i go about repairing that?

some1 said i could get it knocked out, but that would leave a crease and i am not down with that

just seems like this shit always happens to me.

Yer, see, i dont wanna get the police involved really. coz there are 3 possible locations this could of happened.

1) Asda
2) Outside the Job centre (where i parked when i went to the bank)
3) Outside work

i doubt it was 2 or 3 as i would of noticed it

but its a possibility

i just dont wanna go to the police and say it was either here, here or possibly here.

they will just say, well heres a crime reference number, for your insurance.

they wont check shit. Lazy fuckers.

and not gettin insurance involved if i cant track the guy down. £250 excess and lose no claims. not worth it at all

This is true, however they do have CCTV...if they check that they can get a registration number to give to the police, they can then find out who it was and go through the relevant channels of claiming through insurance etc :y:

Even if the CCTV showed someone hitting you still not assured to claim off them.

Also getting it repaired privatley is probably looking £500+ min as its a full rear 1/4 panel and it wont just push out.

I can't see the pics so I don't no the damage.

Ye, it would be classed as that, which is an offence and can be taken to court. So go to the police, and go down to ASDA and speak to a manager explain it has been reported to the police etc you accept its not their responsibiity but could they please check the CCTV to see if they can find a reg number (or even a make and model, colour and partial reg), they might give it direct to the police though and not yourself

so the plan now, is to go to the police, tell the the script, hopefully if happened somewhere they can check the camera's and asda, or the job centre can check, catch the guy and it all gets sorted. but it will be a long time if the police are gettin involved. those guys dont rush! :P

As above insurance will write the car off if you claim so will need to get it VIC checked once the repairs are done.

Yeah, I had a dent just by the drivers door handle on the rear quarter, but that was much smaller, this is a big crease, plus the rear quarter has natural creases/lines in it to follow, gonna be a bastard mate.

That should be pretty easy to push out from inside, there's no serious creases, even withtouching the paint up that's gone through you should be able to get that sorted for about 60-70 quid. Probably have to sand back and fill the rub strip in the door though.

i was thinking it was more of a new panel job.

but just learnt that they arnt bolt on panels at the rear... which makes the job alot more expensive and undo-able.

gonna take it to a place near me and get them to have a loom at it and see what they suggest.

hopefully they can pull it out and minimize the creases.

but I WANT NO CREASES! my car had none yesterday, and i havent done anything and now its got a massive dent and creases. its not fair that it should look like shit and i be out of pocket coz some prannock cant drive properly

i am saving £100,000 and gettin on Virgin Galactic, then once out of the atmosphere am gonna jump out the window (assuming that they open) then maybe i will float somewhere a little more habitable with less Neanderthals!

If you're short on pennies just have them massage the dent out and leave the paint for another day, it looks like it's only gone down to the zinc coat, not bare metal? If so, a good clean and keep it waxed and it'll be alright for a month or so.

A little bit of lanolin rubbed into the paint damage'll slow any corrosion if there's anywhere that's gone down to bare steel.
Most of that should stay on if the panel is warm when it's moved, you will probably get a bit of flaking around the bottom edge of the paint that's missing, but just take the edge off with a bit of wet and dry and it should stop it going further.

You can only get protected no claims after a few years IIRC. So if he has less than a few NCB, surely he would lose them if he claimed for this minor damage?

The likelyhood of even seeing the crash on the CCTV is remote so seeing the reg plate on it and getting the driver to admit fault is even smaller.

Tbh it needs a new rear 1/4 which is the hardest part of a saxo to change and then needs it fitting and painting etc which is about 1k so he needs to think if the car is worth that.

I would advise either claiming on the insurance.

Or dont fix it and break the car for parts and buy another one.
