alloys tend to be stronger and lighter :)

IMO steel wheels tend to be lighter.. Of course there are a fair few light sets of alloys..

It really depends on what alloys you go for alloys are stronger yes but its harder to find a set that arnt lighter than a steelie which is also fairly heavy

VTS/VTR wheels are heavier than those of a 14inch steel, but you have the benefit that they a) look nicer B) are stronger and C) Provide better cooling for your brakes.
9 times out of ten you will be better with a lightweight alloy, pro race 1's are incredibly lightweight as are speedline 2118's, they also are quite strong despite their reduction in weight. They provide greater cooling and look great too.
But if you're on a budget and just looking to reduce unsprung mass, well sorted steelies will stand you in good stead.

Tell me about it, but better than a steel wheel imo.
My Cooked brakes and masses of brake dust verifies your comment chinkostu.

leight weight wheels are not always 'stronger' but depending on what u need them for they can be a benefit, hence weightloss, on my corsa i had OZ superleggera's (15") and they weigh 4.2kg each........ brilliant wheels, all depends what u want the wheels for as u will need to compromise one for the other
