This will be my first winter experience driving. I already knew you had to use slightly warm water anyway but my dad text me yesterday morning saying don't use hot water xD He leaves for work at 7 and I leave for college at about 8.20. This morning was alright, just rained. Not looking forward to having to scrape shit loads of ice off my car :n:

The car hasn't frosted over enough yet, least not bad enough it takes me 10 minutes to de-frost it or scrape it. But i usually just use supermarket de-icer.
Last year in my old punto it was that cold the damn key snapped in the lock :panic: and before that the door froze shut LOL

I don't think it's that cold this year, seems pretty warm tbh

My doors froze shut at least 3 times last yeah. I go out to the drive, start the engine. Take the key fob off, put the heaters on full and lock the door with the car running. then head out 5 mins later to no ice on the windows and a warm car! :)

Can't use Anti-Freeze on the Landrover, creates a weird glaze across the window and its literally impossible to see anything.

Just leave car running with heaters on full whack for 5 minutes. Car runs smoother when you drive off and its warm and clear screen :D

Be a man and scrape it! Put some elbow grease into it and you'll be fine. I don't fart about with de-icer etc, just a waste of money IMO.

use water or de-icer from work, weve got a fleet of vans and im a driver, so theres an abundance of extra large tins of unipart de icer, normaly wayyyyyyyyyyy more then needed for the vans(there has to be as we all "borrow" some)

Don't want to burst your bubble but you'll see in time the elements in the screen will damage. So when you turn it on you will be left with vertical strips of ice/condensation where its not working. Happened to both of our mondeos .

In your defence, your car is pretty new IIRC, so you shouldn't have any problems yet.

usualy just scrape the windows and just use deicer on locks etc where nessesary takes minutes to do so why waste like a 5er a bottle.. but warm water seems useless as it just freezes again if you dont get moving quick enough

Wipers on full blast. Then drive with a minimal gap to see through.

I use de-icer & also sometimes use warm water although obviously this can shatter the window but I'm solid & it hasn't yet.

Whatever I have on hand. I dont have the rear heating screen wired in and no heaters in the car. Its bloody freezing with the holes in the bulkhead too.

So lots of layers and hat and gloves in the car. Oh well car is only on the road for another week or so then its working on it in the cold :(

Do it. It's ace in winter :y: but you can't beat being stood with your mates and when someone walks past your car, or looks in it, just start it :fcuk:

Never gets boring :D
