Newcastle Nightlife

Heading to newcastle on sat 6th november for my bday, just wondering if anyone knows where the main nightlife is and if there's any cheap hotels/b&bs or that about close to the main part so we're not goin a big walk or expensive taxi journey!

Been told The Gate area is populated mostly by gays...

You want to head to The Attic to end your night... Awesome place, then theres places like Yates, that has decent drink deals to start the night..

I recommend drinking before you go out, even doing this, last time i went a few weeks ago i spent 130 purely on drink on the night out..

yeah i'm just tryin to find a cheap hotel/b&b/hostel for us, about 9 of us goin, and we'll be drinkin on the bus on the way down aswell! i'll be 27, but there's a few younger ones 20ish, guessin it'll be an idea for them to take I.D? i'll b taking mine anyways!

tell everyone to have ID and black shoes, or shoes of some kind, not bold trainers, or half the places will tell you to eff off.
Some of the big clubs dont like tattoo's on show either, so warn people.

Just hunt around, try premier inn and stuff, or google cheap hotels in newcastle..

The taxi's are cheap enough, last time i went we were 3 miles out, taxi was 8 quid between 5 or 6 of us..

Theres a place called The Metro Inn, out near the airport thats basic and cheap..

think ive found a hostel place that looks fairly decent and can sleep all of us in one dorm, £19.50 each aswell and its on westgate road and corporation street. just really sumwhere to get ready and put our stuff for the nite!

cheers for the help smiith! think most of us wear brown shoes but dont imagine that make much difference.

just need to fone this place in the mornin and organise a bus then sort out the carry out :D good times ahead hopefully!

If its a backpackers in you may have trouble, they are booked months and months in advance, tbh, unless you book a good 3 months ahead, theres not many places with rooms, and specially nothing in the center cheap

Use blueline Taxis, probably the cheapest and one of the most reliable. Geordie Taxis are based just around the corner from where your staying if you want quick pick up but theyll be more expensive.

Depends what kind of music/scene your into tbh, I know where I go to avoid certain types of people and listen to the music I like, but you may be the opposite of me :P

Gate is not populated by Gays lol, more around the central station area/pink triangle, the dog/powerhouse etc.

Tup-tup is a fun night out and the lasses are always bonny in there, if not there then make your way to the gate, your indoors all night and there always loads of birds and drinks offers.

Head to Mushroom. Seems to be where everyone heads.
Liquid sucks and is expensive, Bam Bu is alright these days.
