Ok,got some Apex -50mm springs here which i was going to sell. But having 2nd thoughts about it and thinking about fitting them.
Can do the rear to match(or slightly higher).
Didnt want to spend any money on the car as imo, they sell quicker and for more in standard form so wont be changing the shockies etc.
What would the ride comfort be like if i fitted the springs??At the moment i like the way it drives so dont want to ruin that and have it bouncy or crashy etc and feel every bump in the road.

i wouldnt bother lowering a car with just springs, especially over 40mm standard shocks if your going to do it get shocks aswell. apex -50 at front and -45 at rear on my vtr, will still oversteer nicely if you want it to :) Ride comfort isnt too bad but i personally wouldnt want to go any lower

So you like the way it rides and you dont want to modify it. Why do you want to lower it then?

thats not what he said he said he wouldnt want to lower it more!!
IMO i think they handle shit standard and they need lowering and 50mm is the perfect amount to have looks/performance/ and an ok ride. yes it will be bumpier but it will corner faster and feel safer when on abit of a mission.

Because ive got the springs here and it wont cost me anything to do it.Would purely just be for looks if ride comfort isnt massively compromised. And i dont want it to start chewing up axle bearings.
01_vtr do you have any pics of yours to give me and idea.

Mines down 60mm on springs mate, The ride isnt that bad at all, I will admit that the handling isnt amazing tho.

Go for coilovers, much better Handling :)

coilovers are too expensive for a look. I have had mine lowered by manic motors 50mm and its accectable. ok if you go over a bump a little too hard you will feel it but if you go slowely over them no diffence to standard height also realistacally if your not going to rag the hell out of it or have people in the rear all the time pointless changing the shocks thats what Chris from Manic Motor told me when he lowered my saxo
Hope this helps

Cheers guys, just waiting on some better weather to get them fitted.
Wouldnt entertain coilovers unless they had adjustable shock rebound. Not on a road car anyway. On the likes of small cars like Saxo's etc,a matched spring and shock combo will always be far superior to coilovers imo.

I remember my old Apex -35mm springs were pretty solid.
However that was on the full Apex kit including dampers etc.
