Am I right in thinking foam pads won't shift light scratches from glass?

If not, what sort of pads/ polish would I need to shift them? Would a dual action be up to the job?

Cheers :y:

Rayon Fibre Pads will do the job, Rubbish Boys sell them. Should be ok with a DA, probably need alot of pressure.

As for polish, a dedicated glass polish should work, if not try some polishes/compounds. Just make sure the glass is cleaned afterwards.

scratch glass and your pretty much stuck with it mate, unfortunatley its glass it cant be polished(properly), its hard as fuck and if somethings scratched it and its bothering you youll need to get a new windscreen, unless really light......

if it makes you feel better mine's fucked, wiper came loose after i sprayed the arms on pasenger side and scratched the window to fuck, didnt realise with the sax wipers being that loud, gonna wait till aftet the winter then smash the screen on the insurance ;)

Ah I see. The ones that have appeared on mine are just really light scratches, only visible when driving into direct sunlight.

So I'd be wasting my time going at it with a foam polishing pad? Might have to invest in one of those pads and the glass polish - seems cheap enough.

I did see on another forum that someone had polished out quite severe scratches on glass, I will try and find it :detective:

you sure? ive never tried to polish glass but i would guess its quite different to paint, reason being you dont haveany paint depths to worry about so i guess it would be possible to remove a lot more without causing any harm.

but as i say, never tried it som im just thinking out loud really.

Well if you think how deep a scratch in glass is to feel it with your fingernail and how hard glass is. I wouldn't like to imagine how much work it would take to remove enough 'glass'.

Yeah it probably is possible but I wouldn't like to try it lol.
