Ive only just got into photography and did a cat walk with pa and lighting under concorde at manchester airport so i decided to take my dads canon eos 20d with me.

ive done alot of reading into techniques and this is only the 4th time ive used this camera and spent alot of time trying different settings ect.

just wondering if there is anyway to improve my photos in either photoshop or when taking the photo. i cant remember the full spec of the lense.

btw i shot in full manual mode iso 1600 and varied shutter speeds and appetures. it was hard as oviously the lighting was white then blue then purple then green ect ect.

just a few which i like.

a nice set of photos, I would say that the first image of the modelling shots is the best, lighting is perfect, when taking the images I would make sure I was in the best place lighting wise and so I was nice and close to the action and to make sure I had a good background behind the subject. In photoshop I would do a bit more cropping and brighten some of them up abit and change the levels :)

Firstly LENS

First image is the best of the people, the rest you have some which are out of focus and generally not that great. Theyre not interesting subjects so you dont have it easy (I know from corporate events I have done).

Location wise it looks like a seated event so guess you were heavily restricted on where you could be without a pass.

Looks like flash used on a few due to the nasty shadows behind.

best shot under the plane is the first but you are off center and it stands out alot. Cropping will help a touch.

thanks ryan and yes was restricted on where i could go. this is the first time shooting in the dark like this. i really enjoyed myself but i need alot more experience and sorry about the lens :P

any specific websites i can cast my eyes over?

Being restricted is tough, most photo forum users will never have been and shot an event so cant seem to grasp the concept that you cant just 'move to a better spot' and you have to do what you can do.

Just keep working at it, you are restricted by your gear, high iso and fast glass is key in crap light
