View Full Version : temperature sensor location on vts

hi i was driving down the road today and i seen on the dash that the temperature reading is not moving so i guess it could be broke, i want to rule out the sensor can anyone tell me where it is and any test i can do to check the fault

its located just under the thermostat,you cant miss it..well it is on a vts..dont know what model uv got

edit that ive just looked the only sensor i can see is the one on the back of the thermostat housing its a green one

there should be two on the thermostat on the vts or at least there is on my mk2 vts
Green one which informs the ECU of the engine temp and a blue one that controls the guage on the dash

just had a look i got a green one on the thermostat housing and one next to it but its on the head and thats blue
anyway to test them

yea there is two..test them both,unplug them and run the car for a few mins..i would also clean them before putting back on
