My 02 VTR recently developed a knocking noise which i later found out was a loose sparkplug after having it towed home from bristol because the plug eventually came free making a terrible noise, well it knackered the thread or atleast damaged it a bit and im just looking for some advice as to what i can do now. BTW already bought a new head but sold it, looking for somekind of thread repair before heli coils.

Thanks in advance.

Only options are an insert or new head.

Not sure about that. If a thread is damaged to the extent a fastener or plug in your case won't stay tight then the only option is an insert.

heli coil is your best bet i would say prob better to just go down the scrappy and pick up a head for about £20 bout same price as a helicoil set

I have a spark plug thread repair kit which i used to re-thread two spark plug holes into the cylinder head of my vts, it still has two unused heli coils if your interested in the kit, feel free to private message me, Craig
