hi guys,

a mate at work (Lee) offered to show me how to use a rotary polisher as i had previously done everything by hand and my dad happened to mention he had a Makita rotary sitting in the shed, never used :panic:

Lee showed me some pics on his website ( www.flidesigns.co.uk ) of other cars he had done for people and have to say i was impressed at how well they had turned out.
He is also into photography and graphic/logo design.
Check out his website above.

So, i got my cleaning stuff ordered from CYC and we spent sunday cleaning my car.
Pictures below are after we had finished, but it has to be said i've kept the car in good nick since i got it in January (clayed etc), but there were rather a lot of swirls in the paintwork. don't think we got any pics of before though.
Have to say I never expected such a massive difference and am extremely happy with the outcome.

Products used:
Makita Rotary
Menzerna 203s
Menzerna Polishing Pad
Chemical Guys Wet Mirror Finish Sealant
Collinite 476s Wax
Meguiars Endurance Tyre Gel
Meguiars Trim Detiler

Process:
Washed car with fairy liquid to strip previous wax applications.
Dryed.
Taped up using 3M Blue Tape.
Menzerna PO85RD on a Menzerna Finishing pad but this did nothing so moved to Menzerna 203S on Menzerna Polishing pad.
Chemical Guys Wet Mirror Finish applied by hand and buffed off.
Collinite 476s applied with Meguiars foam applicator pads, left about an hour while we applied Meguiars Trim Detailer then buffed off.
Tyres trimmed with Meguiars Endurance Tyre Gel.

2 days later, gave the car a quick wash with Meguiars Soft Wash Gel and then a second coat of Collinite 476s applied, so car is now all ready to face the British winter.

Now for the pics.
Comments/criticism appreciated.

Looks very good especially for a first attempt.

When you put a bottle on your roof for a reflection though put a MF Cloth down first as if for any reason it fell it could scratch the corrected paintwork lol.

Thanks for comments guys.

@munzz, not used a DA before, and I know they say you should learn with one before moving to a rotary, but to be honest my mate was using DA while I was using rotary and I had a quick go with it and found it more awkward and harder to control.
I feel if you're careful enough, you can start with a rotary, just keep it moving.
