Tutorial of how to colour wheels.

hi everyone this just short Tutorial. of how i colour wheels:).

1. first i get the car that i wont and upload it onto photoshop. then i get polygonal lasso tool and draw around the wheel.

2. then after i done that i hold the (ALT) button while doing the inside of the wheel.

3.now after that it should look like this .

4. now you are ready to paint. i use the hue saturation but there are loads of others that are good.

lol i dont mind anyway glad help. and it the same for everything eles like strips and stuff. but always remeber todo outside first then inside:).

rather than using the polygonal lasso to select the wheel which might give you jaggeredy edges you might want to try the method i use.

1) Make a new layer

2) use the circle selection tool to draw a circle roughly the right size of the wheel - this will be your circle guide (hold shift if you want it to be a perfect circle for side on shots)

3) fill the circle guide with any colour and reduce the opacity so you can see the car pic below.

4) Then use transform (ctrl T) to position the circle guide to match the wheel (you may need to use CTRL click on the corners of the transform box and / or rotate the circle)

5) once this is in the right place hit enter (the transform box will disappear and nothing will be selected) so CTRL click on the circle layer on the layers pallette so the circle guide selection is highlighted on the image , then just right click the wheel layer on the layers pallette - this will enable you edit just the wheel part of main image or you can copy and paste so you have a perfect cut out of the wheel. you can then either delete the circle guide layer or click the eye icon on the layers pallette to hide it.
